What is the NLACRC board of trustees?
The Lanterman Act requires each regional center board to reflect the community that it serves through its composition. Composition requirements of regional center boards are described in Section 4622 of the Lanterman Act, and include categories such as residential, geography, ethnicity, and disability.
NLACRC board of trustee members may be people who have developmental disabilities, their family members, or members of the community who have skills in organizational management. In order to be eligible to serve on the board, an individual must live or work within the center's catchment area or be a family member of a consumer who lives in the catchment area.
The board sets policy for the regional center and accomplishes most of its work through subcommittees that include Administrative Affairs, Consumer Services, Government & Community Relations, Strategic Planning and Nominating. The board also oversees the Vendor Advisory and Consumer Advisory Committees.
Board membership requires that you attend meetings two evenings per month, and a desire to help set service policies for the regional center.
The consumers and families served by this regional center need your support. We invite you to join us as a member of our board of trustees.

Board recognition of individuals who have made a significant contribution to the developmental disability community
Do you know an individual who has made a distinguishable contribution in the lives of people with developmental disabilities and deserves recognition for her or his efforts? The individual should live within our catchment area (San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys) and the contribution should have occurred over a sustained period of time, positively impacting the lives of many consumers.
