Sinasaklaw ng bulletin na ito ang paksa ng Pag-iwas sa Pagkalunod. Ang mga rate ng pagkalunod ay makabuluhang tumaas sa pagitan ng Mayo at Agosto. Ang mga indibidwal na nakaligtas sa mga insidenteng malapit nang malunod ay kadalasang dumaranas ng permanenteng pinsala sa utak at nangangailangan ng panghabambuhay na tulong. Kasalukuyang nagbibigay ang DDS ng mga serbisyo sa halos 800 nakaligtas sa mga aksidenteng malapit nang malunod.
