{"id":62632,"date":"2026-06-11T10:52:27","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T17:52:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nlacrc.org\/?p=62632"},"modified":"2026-06-11T10:52:30","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T17:52:30","slug":"early-start-family-surveys-and-focus-groups","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nlacrc.org\/fa\/early-start-family-surveys-and-focus-groups\/","title":{"rendered":"Early Start Family Surveys and Focus Groups"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Focus Groups and 1:1 Interviews for Families in the Early Start Program<\/strong><br><br>The California Policy Center for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (CPCIDD) is a<br>non-partisan, non-profit policy center established to conduct research and identify best<br>practices that inform, support, and improve upon statewide policies that impact the lives<br>of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in California. CPCIDD is studying<br>the impact of the Early Intervention workforce shortage on families who have infants and<br>toddlers who are at risk for, or have, developmental delays. To gain a full perspective on the<br>issue we are conducting surveys, focus groups and one to one interviews with families,<br>family resource centers, early intervention service providers, and regional center service<br>coordinators.<br><br>Family experiences are essential to understanding how the early intervention workforce<br>shortage aJects access to services and supports for infants and toddlers with<br>developmental delays and disabilities. By sharing your family&#8217;s experiences, you can help<br>us better understand how workforce shortages impacts infants, toddlers, and families.<br>Each focus group will be approximately 60 minutes and responses will be de-identified,<br>unless express written consent is given to share identifiable information. The information<br>will be used to compile a report that will be published for statewide distribution. In<br>addition to focus groups we will be conducting 1:1 interviews with families who want to<br>participate but rather not be in a focus group. Information obtained in 1:1 interviews will<br>also be shared anonymously unless express written consent to share identifiable<br>information is given.<br><br>Your insights and experience will help inform policy discussions, workforce planning, and<br>system improvements across the state.
