NLACRC will keep you informed of all directives that may affect our vendor\/service provider community via this page. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Click the buttons below for all DDS directives and calendar of events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dds.ca.gov\/rc\/regional-center-directives\/\">DDS Directives<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dds.ca.gov\/dds-events\/\">DDS Calendar of Events<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator alignfull has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">OPERATIONAL AND SERVICE PROVISION FLEXIBILITIES<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Welfare and Institutions Code (WIC) Section 4639.6 authorizes the Director of the Department of Developmental Services (Department) to issue directives to regional centers as the Director deems necessary to protect individual rights, health, safety, or welfare. Regional centers must comply with any directive issued by the Director pursuant to this section.<br><br>This directive follows the Department\u2019s June 2025 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dds.ca.gov\/newsletter\/message-to-the-community-protecting-access-to-services-and-supports-for-all-californians-2\/\">Message to the Community<\/a>, and provides guidance for regional centers to continue services and protections for individuals and families affected by fear of family separation, including direction and flexibility for regional centers and service providers in supporting individuals when circumstances may result in individuals needing or choosing to remain at home. Regional Centers and service providers are legally required in accordance with federal and state privacy laws, to protect the information of all individuals receiving services.<br><br>This means that we are prohibited by law from disclosing any information about the individuals we support and their families to anyone who might call and ask about them, with some exceptions. <br><br>Disclosure of confidential information and records by the regional center requires written consent by the individual served or someone with legal authority to provide consent on behalf of the individual served.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regional Centers and services providers are required to follow this directive at all times and at private facilities or public locations, including while providing services to individuals.
