Orientation meetings are required for individuals who wish to participate in the Self\u2011Determination Program (SDP). The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and the State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) now offer a statewide live Zoom orientation. Self-Determination Program (SDP) Transition Support Planning Services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Pre-enrollment transition supports are temporary services and help provided after you attend the mandatory SDP orientation and before you officially enter the Self-Determination Program, so you can plan, train, and set things up without losing services. They stop once your SDP budget is approved and you\u2019re fully enrolled. A Person-Centered Planning (PCP) report is often part of this process and is used to identify your goals, preferred supports, and needs to help shape your SDP budget, and 099 services can be authorized to pay for an Independent Facilitator to support planning, coordination, and the transition into SDP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Self-Determination Local Volunteer Advisory Committee<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

El NLACRC, en colaboraci\u00f3n con el Consejo Estatal sobre Discapacidades del Desarrollo, debe establecer un comit\u00e9 asesor local de voluntarios para supervisar el Programa de Autodeterminaci\u00f3n. El comit\u00e9 debe estar integrado por el defensor de los derechos de los clientes del centro regional, consumidores, familiares y otros defensores y l\u00edderes comunitarios, y debe reflejar la diversidad multicultural y el perfil geogr\u00e1fico del \u00e1rea de influencia del NLACRC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El prop\u00f3sito de este comit\u00e9 es supervisar el SDP y dar voz a los consumidores y las familias en el desarrollo y la implementaci\u00f3n del SDP. Las reuniones de Zoom del SDLAC se llevan a cabo el tercer jueves de cada mes de 6:30 p. m. a 8:30 p. m. y no se realizan reuniones en julio ni diciembre.<\/p>\n\n\n

Best Practices Committee (BPC)<\/h4><\/div>
\n

As Self-Determination is an entirely new and different way to provide and pay for services, the law asks the Regional Center to establish the Local Volunteer Advisory Committee to \u201censure the effective implementation of the Self-Determination Program and facilitate the sharing of best practices and training materials\u201d.  So, our regional center \u2013 North Los Angeles County Regional Center {NLACRC} and our Self-Determination Local Advisory Committee (SDLAC) have created a collaboration to identify and document both Best Practices and training materials.  This collaboration is itself a Best Practice that is being viewed as a model among the other 20 regional centers throughout the state.  We call that collaboration to advance Self-Determination the Best Practice Sub-Committee (BPS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El Centro Regional del Norte del Condado de Los \u00c1ngeles (\u201cNLACRC\u201d) est\u00e1 abierto de lunes a viernes, de 8:30 a. m. a 5:00 p. m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
