NLACRC NOTABLE HIGHLIGHTS FROM FISCAL YEAR 2005-2006

TRANSITION FAIRS
NLACRC’s San Fernando Valley office celebrates 10 years of hosting the School to Career Fair in 2006. The “Life After High School Fair” is planned in conjunction with the Los Angeles Unified School District’s DOTS program. Service providers representing day programs, community-based programs, workshops, activity programs, supported employment, community colleges, transportation, travel training, SSI & SSA benefits, Medi-cal, and recreational programs participate and over 180 people attend the fair.

The Santa Clarita Valley NLACRC holds its transition fair on March 30, 2006. Service providers include day, work and independent living programs, residential care providers, Social Security, Department of Rehabilitation, Special Olympics and others. Over 75 people attend and 15 service providers participate.

The NLACRC Antelope Valley transition fair holds its sixth annual transition fair in conjunction with the Antelope Valley High School District. Service providers include adult day programs, supported employment programs, work activity programs and a few non-vendored programs. Over 60 people are in attendance.
