NLACRC NOTABLE HIGHLIGHTS FROM FISCAL YEAR 2005-2006

HOLIDAY GIFT DRIVE
From September to December 2005, Community Outreach Specialist Kathryn Lincoln coordinates the Annual Holiday Gift Drive that helps provide gifts for 172 consumers and their families. Donors include The Lam Family, Honda Performance Development of Santa Clarita, Jayne Stepp, John Dunn, Tom Lattyak, NLACRC staff members including Andrea Voras, Christa Lopez, Elizabeth Brard, and Jennifer Kaiser, as well as the family and friends of Kathryn Lincoln.

LEGISLATIVE BREAKFAST
The 21st Jynny Retzinger Legislative Breakfast is held on April 7, 2006 with more than 150 people in attendance. The theme of the breakfast is “Where Do I Live: The Need for Available, Accessible and Affordable Housing.” Ron Cohen, Ph.D., and Executive Director at United Cerebral Palsy is presented with the 10th Annual Jynny Retzinger Community Service Award.

Eight legislative representatives were represented including Senator Richard Alarcon, Senator Sheila Kuehl, Assembly Member Lloyd Levine, Assembly Member Cindy Montanez, L.A. County Supervisor Michael Antonovich, L.A. County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, L.A. Council Member Tony Cardenas and L.A. Council Member Jack Weiss. Program presenters include Ron Cohen, Cynthia Kawa, Fred Chapa, Marcy Bugen, Roschell Ashley, John Hardin, Jeff Strully, Steve Miller, Margaret Lundsford, and Elizabeth Lyons.
