SEBASTIAN AVALOS...continued

“At one point I was thinking why doesn’t God just take him so he wasn’t suffering anymore because he had IVs everywhere, even through his head. That was really hard but as each day went by my affection towards this little person was that much greater, so it made me learn to appreciate life a lot more.” - Judith Avalos

At age four, Sebastian attends preschool and he’s “Mr. Popular.” The Avalos family joined a support group where they met other parents, which they found very helpful.

“Just meeting other parents that have gone through the same thing . . . the support is always there and if I ever have a question I could always call someone,” says Judith.

“My parents and my family have been very supportive. I’ve done a lot of research and I’ve met a lot of people and specialists who have helped me to understand how to better deal with his disability and all the medical issues. I’ve learned so much and it’s totally changed our lives . . . Sebastian’s the love of our life.”
