Children's Benefits Access Guide
Published by the Disability Rights Legal Center and L.A. Care Health Plan, the guide sets out the health care and related benefits available under Medi-Cal and other governmental programs to children with disabilities, and analyzes agency responsiblity to coordinate, provide and pay for services for eligible children with disabilities.

Early Start Program
The Early Start Program is for children ages 0-36 months who have a developmental disability or who may be at risk for developing a disability. Their publications include guides for families, the rights of parents, family resource centers, and a new publication called Reasons for Concern a brochure that was developed to facilitate finding and identifying infants and toddlers who may benefit from early intervention services and for encouraging appropriatereferrals to Early Start.

Disability Rights California
formerly Protection & Advocacy, Inc. (PAI),
Disability Rights California is a nonprofit that works with people with disabilities to protect, advocate for, and advance human and legal rights. Their publications address issues such as advocacy, health benefits, housing, immigration, transportation, and several others.

National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities
Most of the publications on this site are free. There may be a nominal charge for some. Topics include the special education process, IDEA-related publications, parent guides, transition guides, and many more.

NLACRC Multimedia Libraries
NLACRC’s Multimedia libraries offer information and resources
about developmental disabilities including books, magazines,
videos, community resource guides, assisted Internet searches,
individualized information packets, and audio tapes. Some
materials are also available in other languages.
Many of our resources can be checked out while others are
reserved for library use only.
The San Fernando Valley and Antelope Valley libraries are
open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. by appointment.
