Advocacy Groups

NLACRC Self-Advocacy Group

NLACRC has a self-advocacy group for adults with developmental disabilities. The group meets every third Tuesday from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at St. Michael’s, 16643 Vanowen Street in Van Nuys. For more information, please contact Kathryn at (818) 756-6225.

The MHDDC is an information and training center dedicated to the mental health needs of people with developmental disabilities.

National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities
The center provides information to the nation on disabilities in children and youth; programs and services for infants, children, and youth with disabilities; IDEA, the nation's special education law; No Child Left Behind, the nation's general education law; and research-based information on effective practices for children with disabilities. Anyone can use their services—families, educators, administrators, journalists, students. Their special focus is children and youth (birth to age 22).
