What is the
Performance Contract?
Beginning January 1, 1993, Senate Bill 1383 (McCorquodale)
required that the California Department of Developmental
Services (DDS) enter into five-year performance based contracts
with regional centers. The purpose of these contracts was
for regional centers to work with the communities we serve
to develop five-year goals and yearly objectives in nine
performance standard areas. NLACRC completed its last five-year contract in 2004.
The performance contract was revised in 2002 to include public policy and compliance measures in areas such as community living options, employment, access, medical and dental service access, and audit accountability. Through annual public meetings, the community has the opportunity to suggest local outcomes for regional centers to include as part of their performance contracts.
2009 Performance Contract Public Meetings
NLACRC will hold public meetings at the San Fernando Valley and Antelope Valley offices around late August or early September. We will give you a progress update on our 2008 performance contract and this is your opportunity to tell us what you would like to see included as local outcomes in the 2009 Performance Contract. If you are unable to attend the public meetings, you can also send your comments to us by mail, fax, or e-mail.
Please visit our web site in mid July for more information about the public meetings.
