What is the NLACRC board of trustees?
NLACRC board of trustee members may be people who have developmental disabilities, their family members, or members of the community who have skills in organizational management.

Board membership requires that you attend meetings two evenings per month, and a desire to help set service policies for the regional center.

Over 18,000 consumers and families served by this regional center need your support. We invite you to join us as a member of our board of trustees.

The benefits of becoming a board member
A chance to help others – many who have served on a board say that one of the biggest incentives for doing so is the opportunity to help others and 'give something back.' Influence the direction of activities, services, and policies – as a board member, you will be very involved in planning and organizing activities; you can help shape how services or policies unfold and how the organization conducts its business.

Learn about programs that may benefit your child and other children and adults – as a board member, you will be able to learn more about programs and services that are available for children and adults with disabilities.
Make a difference – you can make decisions that affect others for the better. Your concrete and practical knowledge about disabilities can help ensure that decisions made by the organization are informed ones.

Board recognition of individuals who have made a significant contribution to the developmental disability community
Do you know an individual who has made a distinguishable contribution in the lives of people with developmental disabilities and deserves recognition for her or his efforts? The individual should live within our catchment area (San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys) and the contribution should have occurred over a sustained period of time, positively impacting the lives of many consumers.
